I-5 (SR-57 to SR-55)

This project was completed in 2020.

The I-5 Central County Improvements project was completed in December 2020. OCTA and Caltrans completed construction of a second carpool lane on I-5 between SR-55 and SR-57. The I-5/Main Street HOV on-and off- ramps were demolished to make room for the new lanes. The carpool lanes also have been restriped to make it easier for motorists to get in and out of them. The project reduces congestion, alleviates bottlenecks and improves traffic flow.
