  • Metrolink Service Expansion Program

Prior to adding service between Fullerton and Los Angeles as promised, a number of track improvements and agreements with partner agencies need to be in place. While agreements are in progress, OCTA deployed a total of ten new Metrolink intracounty trains operating between Fullerton and Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo, primarily during the midday and evening hours. Additional and/or expanded weekday service between Oceanside and Los Angeles is planned to take place in the coming year. The service improvements are contingent on cooperation and funding participation with our route partners.

This is part of the OC Go program. OC Go (also known as Measure M), is a 30-year half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements in Orange County through 2041. After experiencing the success and progress of M1, nearly 70% of Orange County voters renewed the half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements to launch OC Go in 2011.
