  • Enjoy a stress-free commute between Orange and Los Angeles Counties with our limited-stop express service. Turn your attention toward relaxing rather than the cars ahead of you.


  • Express routes begin at park-and-ride facilities where you can leave your car and travel to popular business centers in Los Angeles and Orange County. These routes use freeways, have fewer stops and operate only during peak morning and afternoon times Monday through Friday. Mobile ticketing is available for all Express and OC Express routes so you can easily buy and display your bus pass on your phone. No need to hassle with paper tickets or cash.

    Express Routes

    • Route 701 begins at the Goldenwest Transportation Center in Huntington Beach and travels along the 405, 605, 105 and 110 freeways to a final destination at the Patsaouras Transit Plaza in downtown Los Angeles.
    • Route 721 begins at the Fullerton Park-and-Ride and travels along the 91 and 110 freeways, to its final destination at the corner of 5th & Beaudry in downtown Los Angeles.
    • Route 794 travels between Riverside and South Coast Metro area.

    OC Express Routes

    Payments on the Bus

    Fareboxes accept most coins and dollar bills, but do not accept pennies or $20 bills and larger. Please have exact fare ready, as fareboxes do not make change. If paying a senior or disabled reduced fare, you must show identification each time you board a bus.

    Express Routes – 701, 721 & 794

    Prepaid 30-Day passes are available for sale by OCTA either online, from the OCTA Store or by mail.

    Notes

    Local Multi-Day Passes
    When using a regular OC Bus prepaid fare pass to board an Express or OC Express route, an additional cash fare, per boarding is required. The value of these passes toward the boarding fare of an Express or OC Express route is $2.00 or $.75 for seniors (60 & older), and persons with disabilities and Medicare cardholders.     RTA Passes
    OCTA also honors Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) passes on Route 794. When using a valid regular RTA day pass or monthly pass, an additional $4.00 cash fare per boarding is required. When using a valid senior/disabled RTA day pass or monthly pass, an additional $4.25 cash fare per boarding is required.


    * MUST SHOW PROOF OF AGE, DISABILTIY, OR MEDICARE CARD TO OPERATOR. Senior citizens (age 60 & older) must show a valid driver’s license, California DMV card, Medicare card or OCTA Reduced Fare ID card as proof of age. Persons with disabilities must show an OCTA Reduced Fare ID card, Medicare card, Braille Institute ID card, Service Connected Veteran ID card, other transit agencies’ “persons with disabilities” including ACCESS cards, or DMV Disabled Person Placard ID.
